By now you are probably familiar with the term “Clean Beauty”. It’s a popular term that retailers are using to describe the ingredient standards of the beauty products they sell.
While the definition of clean beauty varies, the basic meaning of Clean Beauty is that the product is made with ingredients that aren't suspected to harm human health.
You would think that the FDA has strict rules against what substances are considered harmful, however that is not the case. According to the FDA website,
“With the exception of color additives and a few prohibited ingredients, a cosmetic manufacturer may use almost any raw material as a cosmetic ingredient and market the product without an approval from FDA.”
As you can see from their terminology, cosmetic manufacturers are hardly checked. This is why the term Clean Beauty has become so popular. It’s needed to ensure that you are able to find quality products that won’t harm your health.
At myth/magick we wholeheartedly support Clean Beauty. Our products are paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free. We sustainably source our products and are always animal cruelty free.
